I can’t remember the first blog I was on, but it talked about BPA and had a link to this site: http://www.enviroblog.org/2008/03/bpa-questions-answered.htm. This has been the site I always refer back to, and forward on to friends. The original mom blog I saw it on though, may have been tangledandtrue, or crunchydomesticgodess… really, not sure. Would love to win a BPA free sippy cup pack! Thanks!!

It just amazes me at what all you have to watch out and check for the days for children. Being a mother of 3 you would think that these companys that made sippy cups and bottles with BPA in them would have checked first to see if it would harm someone using them. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and please enter me into the drawing.
April 18th, 2008 at 11:13 am

April 18th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
I hadn’t even heard about BPA till recently. It makes me mad that so many toys and dishes that touch kids mouths contain such horrible things. I’m glad to see a company like this taking a interest in offering safe products for our kids.
April 18th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
I actually learned about BPA when Connor was a month old. I was sitting in my peditrician’s office reading a local magazine that features alot of organic products and there was an article. I actually asked my pediatrician about it at the time and he dismissed it as a bunch of “hogwash” (his term not mine) Needless to say Connor’s bottles were not BPA free as a result.. something I feel awful about.. I am trying to change that with his sippys being careful only to choose ones that are safe. Seeing as we only have three sippy cups that we rotate throughout the day.. we would LOVE to win some more.
I blogged your contest on Prize-A-Tron
http://www.sevendogsandababy.com
April 18th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
I actually learned about it 9th grade advanced chemistry. We all voted not to ever use such a product, until we learned it was plastic. Didn’t really realize the extent until just a few years ago. I honestly can’t remember what my new source was, I have always been environmentally aware & looked into sight like that. Great giveaway!
April 18th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
I first head about BPA on my local news. It was right after my son was born and they we’re talking about how dangerous some baby bottle could be cause they were made out of this. I’ve since kept my eyes open and I try to buy things made with out, but it isn’t always easy (especially when you get things as gifts). Thanks for this give away!
April 18th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Wonderful that it does not contain harmful chemicals.
April 18th, 2008 at 8:06 pm

April 18th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
I found you through squidoo.com as I was doing some research on which Nuby cups are safe (since my son’s favorite is the 2 handle cup). I attend a weekly playgroup at our food coop for parents trying to raise kids with natural products, etc. Someone brought in an article and we discussed options. My dad also mailed me an article he clipped from the newspaper about it.

I didn’t even know about bpa specifically. I’ve been hearing about the bad plastic out there to stay away from like water bottles. We use Nuby cups in our house, it’s our favorite brand. I think that means we are in good shape.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
The first time I heard about it was when I went to the store 2 days ago to buy my daughters first sippy cup. I saw packaging that said BPA-free, bought a Nuby cup, and went home and researched online what BPA was. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard anything earlier.

I’d been hearing about it for a while, but the recent piece on the Today Show really hit home for me.

Hi I’m a second time around mom soon due. I read about BPA on the internet and news. I called companies about the bpa scare, I got really scared myself until I found out all the details. Its good to see the research being done to help moms protect their growing children. Again thanks for the information.

Just came across it by accident when looking for a sippy cup to use for my baby! Had no idea about BPA prior to that.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Sadly, I found out about BPA after my miscarriage in November I was trying to learn more about my miscarriage and I found out the BPA has been found to lead to chromosonal defects (which is what our baby had)…which leads to miscarriage. We will never know exactly what caused the miscarriage, but I am avoiding plastics as much as possible and I am sure that when I do have a baby I will do the same! Thanks for this great giveaway - it’s so important!
